hi all i was looking at the graphic cards (AGP) and was origegaly looking at the ati x800gto but ocuk seem to have stoped it now so is this better Sapphire X1600 Pro 512MB DDR2 AVIVO TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail (GX-120-SP) or should i stick to what i got?.

ps i know spending loads on an agp card aint worth it hence why the one above will i see an improvment over me 9800pro for the one above?.

thanks

It tends to beat the 6600GT, and in turn the 6600GT tends to beat the 9800pro.

So basically, you'll see a small performance increase but you'll also get access to shader model 3.0 rather than 9800pro's 2.0. I don't think you'll see any major performance benefits however - check Tom's Hardware VGA charts (http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html) and see if your favourite games are there, check out the frame rates for the card.

Also, I'd normally recommend getting the 256mb version as at these speeds you aren't going to make much use of the 512mb, but since it's only £5 might as well get the 512mb.

is there a 1900 model in agp flavour?.what would have been better though the ati x800gto or the one i posted?.

just want to play gtr2 at full res etc i can with all high detail but fps drops a littl low for comfert hahaha.

ascuse me spelling please.

just been looking on another thread about an agp 7600 may waith for that gibbo said ocuk will stock em in about 2 weeks time :D

Yeah x1600pro's are terrible cards, get whooped of a 6600 GT, the x800 GTO is much better than it, and theres no point having 512mb on it as its wasted, best bet is as you say waiting for that 7600 which by all accounts are gona be a cracking value card. :)

Welcome to the forums btw. :)

cheers m8have been coming here for years but always on the move so haveing to keep reanabling me account.

dont bother with the X1600 pro, either wait for the 7600GT AGP or buy a second hand X800GTO, id be happy to keep an eye out for one for you on Members Market if that helps.

thats what i was gonna get but dident see it in the agp section dident think of looking there.

still may wait for the 7300 now? dont know what to do any one got any idea how much it will cost when it comes out?.
