These are some systems I have put together for a computing/business project at school, just wondering what could be improved, and where components need to be changed, I know some ram probably has to be changed to be the correct speed. This is just a first draft. I've not really kept upto date and these are supposed to be all round systems to be sold to idiots, hence the cheap@ss mobos, ram, screens, speakers. :p Prices will be lower when I work out the best place to everything from and so save on delivery.

The Intel ones are good value and overclocking will be a boy scouts dream. Leave AMD until there new line up appears a good few months away.........

From what I can tell on a quick scan through all parts are compatible. However you might find that PC6400 is cheaper in some cases than PC5300 for the Ram plus I'd generally prefer to see it on 6600 and above systems however that does have a bit to do with overclocking potential as the required Ram speeds aren't necessarily PC6400 to run correctly.

I'd not be unduly keen on having the P5GZ-MX appearing in a high-end system as it doesn't have all the features that higher end motherboards have, not to mention the more important fact (for the last system at least) it doesn't support 4gb Ram according to the manufacturer. Maybe consider a Gigabyte DS4 or Asus P5N-E 650 SLi as both aren't much more expensive but are more fully featured and would work fine.

I'd also consider changing the PSU case on the systems with the 8800GTXs, I'm pretty sure it would be fine with the Antec Sonata but generally I personally would be happier with a good 500w PSU in there instead. :)

//edit also have you factored in your cost for putting the systems together? If not I would also do that.

Thanks.

I haven't added the labour costs on yet, is there a way of buying parts from shops without vat, or would that be more effort than it's worth for this?

You can get a company VAT registered but the turnover has to be below a certain amount I believe otherwise it is automatic that you must register, actually take a look at the HM Customs page as they have more information than I do. One thing I would say though is consider at this point if most of your customers will be VAT registered as it can make a difference to whether it is worthwhile. Also as far as I am aware you don't claim the VAT back at point of sale, you pay it then later reclaim it from HM Customs and Excise or rather HM Customs and Revenue now it appears. :)

Reasonable array there, but with the £1000 priced Intel systems I would be expecting a better motherboard, Ram and PSU on offer if I was to part with that amount of cash. Especially as the content of my sig was put together for £800, well, £900 now I have had to replace the motherboard since dropping my buggered PSU on it this morning.

But, if its going to be aimed at people that dont know this from that then its fine.
