Are these temps correct?

On the run...
Ive got a Q6600 on stock speeds cooled by a Ninja Scythe rev B and Noctua NF-S12 1200RPM 120mm fan.

Idle temps are:

BIOS = 50c
nTune = 41c
TAT = 52c

Even though they differ and I'm not sure which one to believe, they all seem too high for idle considering the cooling solution I'm using. I have seen other peoples idle temps using the same solution in the 30's.

Im using Arctic Silver 5 and the unit is secured to mobo properly, room temp is about 21c :confused:

im using a titan amanda, speedstep enabled and it idles at 30C, so with your inferior cooling and having 2 more cores and speedstep disabled i would guess 50C may be correct

[email protected] with Ninja rev B and original fan my idle temp is around 35C.

Either your software is lying or you may need to reseat your Ninja.

30C on a Titan Amanda? I got 30C at stock on my E6600. The Titan is an expensive heap of junk tbh :p

yeah well its meant to be equal with most coolers when at idle, but under load it shows its true colours, e6600 with 1.5V running at 3.6ghz and runs between 50-55C

Pretty good but I still think it is overly expensive :p

probably is but when i upgrade to quad core next year it will be worth the extra money, i might mod it somewhat, change the fans for ones with a higher cfm, but they would need to be run off a fan controller, and the current ones would have to be fitted in my case somewhere, it does have its niggles but its a well made piece of kit, im sure titan will make a much superior product within the next year from what they have learned from this one

is the amanda the peltier standalone cooler?

snakey: looking at many of the other threads it sounds like your hsf might need reseating

yeah I think that might be the case. I don't overly rate the mechanism that secures it to the mobo tbh. I much prefer the more secure backplates fittings that come with most other after market coolers.
