Are these temps really ok for a Zalman

I currently have a Zalman CNPS9500 LED Cooler on my E6300, which is currently at 3.31ghz, but the temps seem somewhat high.
55 idle
70 load
are those ok? or should they be lower?

Cheers

using a Lian Li PC7 with 3 120MM fans @ 7v (2 front=intake , 1 back=exaust)

CPU voltage is 1.5

Ive taken the CPU and heatsink out, applied a new layer of AS5 (paper thin layer spread with a credit card) to both and reseated, but its not made much difference. i've checked both with a razer blade, and they seem pretty flat. Surely this cooler is better than what im getting.

It isnt the tempreture of my room, because my second machine, next to me has an A64 3500+ overclocked to 2.5ghz with a Thermaltake Silent Tower on it, and it idles at 36 and load 55...

yeah you're right, I just dropped my voltage to the stock 1.325v and the temps are now 43 idle and 57 load. I was unaware that such a small increase in voltage could affect the temps so dramatically, and thats with the cpu fan on lowest setting. I guess you learn something new everyday.

How much higher can I expect to push my cpu? and at what point would it be wise to start increasing the voltage?

I'm certainly no expert, but you should just keep pushing until you need to up your voltage. Then do it in very small steps.

That's the right idea.

Push it higher in fairly small steps. When Orthos isn't stable then up the voltage a little bit at a time until it is.

Then try pushing a bit higher and keep repeating those steps.

Decide what speed/voltage/temp settings you're happy staying with. If you plan on keeping the CPU for a few years (which most people probably don't on here) then I wouldn't put over 1.5v through on air. Personally I won't go above 65C load and about 1.4V. Maybe less in summer.
