Are these temps right?

im running a q6600 at 3.0ghz with a zalman 9700, the temps in coretemp are 56 idle and around 71 load max. The case is an akasa eclipse. Ive also noticed the temps are slightly lower with the panels off.

heard the quads run a bit hotter than the dual core but 56 seems a bit high for idle.

if the temps lower with a side panel off check you're air flow within the case, tidy cables etc.

with the side panel off it drops from 56 to 48. The intake is at the bottom front of the case, behind that are 2hdd's. How could i improve the intake/outtake etc.

change case fans, what you have atm?
what cpu cooler you have btw?

i have the Zalman CNPS9700-LED Aero Flower, and i have the 2 standard 120mm fans that came with the case, what fans would u recommend?

scythe, yate loons and noctua

so your choice i suppose, ask around like.

btw check your cpu cooler is seated right and all.

ah poo, just realised my cpu is facing the wrong way, the fan is suppose to be facing the inside :/

are the 2 hard drives at the front totally blocking air flow from the front fan ?

na they only cover about a 1/4 of it

this would def help your air flow if you have the room.
maybe some pics of the inside of your case could help us

the inside of my case, the heatsink has been changed to face the other way now.



ive just changed the zalman round to face the right way and my temps seem to have dropped now , to 47 47 42 46 idle, tho i have only just turned my pc on
