Just about. ATX spec says +/-5%.

To be absolutely sure of the accuracy you'd need to multimeter the readings yourself though as sensors have been known to be wrong.

I have seen the craziest voltages being reported by onboard sensors

Agree. The sensors are almost always wrong it seems.

The +12V is estimated at around 8V on mine - which obviously wouldn't run.

Yes even in the BIOS. It uses the same sensors as the Windows software would use after all.

That's why on a few motherboards they provide multimeter points so you can check them yourself without risk of touching the wrong thing.

Not sure actually. My BIOS readouts are fine and dandy, but the software seems unable to properly communicate with the sensors. So in the BIOS I get 12.2V or something.

Use a multimeter, otherwise the results are inaccurate or just wrong.

Software readings are crap, never close. Use a DMM.
