Are two monitors worth it?

I've just bought a 22" 120Hz Samsung monitor but I'm not sure what to do with my current 20" 60Hz Samsung monitor. I've made sure my monitor will fit on my current desk so I have three options I guess;

1) Use it as a second monitor so I can check guides, Facebook, Youtube, Hardware monitors while gaming etc. This is a likely option but is it really worth it those who have this kind of setup?

2) Sell it and make some of the money back I spent on my new monitor. Again, another likely option and most likely what i'll do if 2 monitors aren't really worth it.

3) Give it to my dad who's still rocking his old 15" Dell monitor from nearly 10 years ago :p. Only thing he really does though is check his emails and do a bit of browsing and light shiopping on the web so I feel the monitor would be wasted on him.

Any ideas?

Can you turn it 90 degrees so it's vertical?

If you can, do that and make it your OcUK screen.

2 monitors are awesome, not so much in gaming, but just for general PC usage.

That being said, the different sizes and colours might be annoying. Since you already own both of them, give it a shot for a couple of weeks and make your mind up afterwards

Ask yourself this question: sharing a bed with one woman is cool, but would I prefer sharing it with two?

If the answer is yes, choose option 1 :)

Also, Dinosaurs.

I can't even adjust the viewing angle with this stand nevermind the orientation :p. It still fits fine horizontal though :).

I got it online so I don't have it yet :p. I'll be sure to try it out when I get it though. Probably the best way to do it.

Depends on the women ;).

Looks like using two monitors is worth it. I'll just try it out when I get it and see if I like it or not. Thanks for the responses :).

Can you let me know if you can game at 120hz on the new screen whilst the other is sitting at the desktop at 60hz or if the 120hz screen has to run at 60hz. Just want to clear up a questione i need answering, would much appreciate it.

So, one monitor is better?

I don't have the 120Hz monitor yet but I'm pretty sure you can run one at 120Hz and one at 60Hz :).

I run one screen at varying rates 60-120Hz, and the other one at 24-60Hz, and never have to worry about them matching in either Vista or Windows 7.

That's with any combination of apps running, though I only had games using the 60-120Hz screen, and other stuff.. monitoring software, web pages, etc., on the other.

Had these split refresh setups with 8800gtx, 460gtx, and 580gtx cards (only ever had 1 in at a time, I never had any card setup in SLI).

I don't know that this may be true for all cards/outputs though.

I would think you'd be fine, but i'm looking to have 1 x 120Hz monitor as primary monitor and the only monitor used for gaming and 2 other monitors at 60hz for just desktop use. Apparently there are problems with this and nobody will answer my thread so if you give your setup a go and let me know then at least i can tick 2 monitors off :) cheers.

I was just thinking about something else; say if I was playing something like an MMO or a slow paced game where 120Hz won't really show much benifit over 60Hz then would it be worth playing those kind of games over two monitors or would the height difference make it useless and confusing (also considering the second monitor will be around an extra three inches lower than the main screen).

Cheers for all the replys so far.
