Need two new tyres: 155R13 80 79T.

Opinions?

Mk1 Golf.

Price no issue really, nothing else to say! :p

Thinking two Vredestein QUATRAC 2s @ £110 fitted at mytyres.co.uk

Edit: Bah wrong forum.

They get pretty good reviews still. I've just put vreds on all 4 corners of the M3, and they're working well enough. Difficult to say how well as I think they're still very fresh.

I've got vredsteins on the mini. Decent enough tyre for the money, especially good in the dry but they seem to create a lot of road noise and they're a bit poor in the wet.

Hmm they tend to have very good wet reviews and from my experience too, are good in a downpour.

But different tyres on different cars and all that. I've had them on the ST220 and now the Z4M.

since those size of tyres are cheap anyway, you could get Michelin Energys or Conti Ecocontacts for pretty much the same price as those Vredsteins you spoke of.

Found ecocontacts for £10 less each than the QUATRAC 2s.

Are the Vredestein's actually £10 better? :/

Edit: Phoned the garage I went to last time, did a deal on two P3000s and alignment so we'll see how they are then!

Ultrac tyre you're on about? they do a few models :p

But yeah, I like them, 3rd set on my car now and they're great in the wet and even better in the dry. Funky tread pattern gets comments too :)

Could you not just get them off of camskill http://www.camskill.co.uk/m73b0s359...es_-_13_inch_R13_inch_-_155_80_13_155_80_R_13 and get them fitted elsewhere?

Hah.

Oh well, never mind.

Two decent P3000 tyres + laser alignment for £100 all in, so I haven't done badly really.

Problem is there are no actual performance tests for my (or even close to) my tyre size, so it's all based on personal opinion.

I think once your paying for premium brands a few quid is probably neither here nor there.
