From the choice of yes or no, I'm going to side with no, because it's 2 letters whereas yes is 3 letters. I think that's pretty sound reasoning tbh.

Since the previous confident no was from one of the forum admins, I can only echo it.

It had nothing to do with excessive spamming - there are other means of dealing with that.

There were some significant forum page display issues which appear to have been caused by quick reply. They've certainly gone (or at least I've not noticed them) since it was turned off.
