I think white trainers go well with many outfits, as most people don't wear white trousers.

Dam the one day the I felt brave enough to take the tags off and wear my white levis.

... Lemonade colour shoes though

Speaking as someone who grew up in the Eighties, they look cool.

They look a bit too flat for my liking. Mind, I think I had some Adidas Stan Smiths back in the 80s but they were well made and comfortable.
With that said, I've got loads of white trainers and I'm 57...but that's tennis for you ;)

Those trainers are really horrible, has nothing to do with them being white, they are just awful.

Wear what you want though, who cares what anyone else thinks.

I always buy navy blue trainers and navy blue jeans and my coat is navy blue....

I must seem boring as hell, one of my ex commented on my jeans colour saying she liked faded blue jeans like the really faded almost white stone washed or whatever.

damn they seem old fashioned looking to me.... my taste must be so bad but whatever clothes are clothes.

I couldn't care how other people perceive me as long as I'm clearly hygienic and wearing clean clothes.

Maybe navy blue trainers are/were popular though the last few pairs I bought navy blue was always the special version limited to a specific store and at a small premium.

I think my next footwear for casual will be some cool hiking shoes/boots, seems theres some pretty tidy looking designs out there for that range.

wherer as regular nike/adidas or whatever seem mostly garish these days

No way I could wear white trainers, just because I tend to get grubby, I am rocking a nice pair of crocs though, height of fashion

Only trainers I wear tend to be Nike Air Max 90, most comfortable trainers I've owned (Sketchers do come a close 2nd though) and even though I'm 48 soon as I tend to wear shorts I always wear trainers, current pair are black leather but only recently thrown out a pair of white leather ones that lasted nearly 2 years however I agree with everyone who has said that white trainers need to be 'dirtied up' and worn in.

They look fine, no one would take a second glance.

And thats the point, nobody cares lol. You'll go out feeling all self conscious/cool and nobody will even notice... a pair of trainers, white or otherwise.

I've got the Nikes as well simply because they're the most comfortable and I have trouble with my feet. But grubby smelly trainers...no. Thats just gross, in the washing machine they go!

I'm not a fan of pairing them with those particular trouser (I think the trousers should have a narrower opening and be slightly shorter with only a very slight break). But plain, simple, white leather trainers are a classic look. I like them. They look better than many off-the-wall multicoloured designs. In fact the plainer and cleaner the design the better.
