Speaking as someone who grew up in the Eighties, they look cool.
Clearly you haven't seen the Nikes with the see through toe piece in 'images of things you bought' threadPlatforms or barefoot no in-between.
They look fine, no one would take a second glance.
Only trainers I wear tend to be Nike Air Max 90, most comfortable trainers I've owned (Sketchers do come a close 2nd though) and even though I'm 48 soon as I tend to wear shorts I always wear trainers, current pair are black leather but only recently thrown out a pair of white leather ones that lasted nearly 2 years however I agree with everyone who has said that white trainers need to be 'dirtied up' and worn in.
