Are XBox 360 disks repairable?

I just tripped over the network cable attached to my 360, tipping it over onto it's side in the process and scratching the inserted disk (GOW of all games!), rendering it unusable.

Anyone know if those disk repair kits are likely to work on 360 games? Might be just a tad cheaper than having to buy another copy.

So annoying. I'd only completed act 1 having purchased the game last week.

My local rent store do disk repairs for a couple of quid, worth to ask your local.

Is it not under warranty? I know all Nintendo games are under a 24 month warranty. Although I don't know if what you did would void the warranty anyway.

I know some publishers you can ring and they'll replace the media for a fee, rather than have to buy a full copy.
