Hi All,

I recently applied for a role in Sales and was asked to complete the Behavior Type and Learning Style questionnaire designed by Peter Honey and Alan Mumford 1986.

This is the first time iv seen this in an interview process, my scores came out as :-

Activist (5)
Reflector (15)
Theorist (6)
Pragmatist (6)

So depending on your type you would be suited to a particular type of learning style.

The questionnaire and further details can be found here :-

So what type are you?

I'd be inherently skeptical about this sort of thing, it sounds like one of those personality tests where someone has decided people fit different types like INTP whatever... these things don't tend to have much evidence behind them but for whatever reason pseudoscience like this has found its way into the workplace. Interesting you've mentioned sales, that does seem to be an area where people are very into this stuff, things like NLP as in "Neuro Linguistic Programming" are quite popular too even though it is mostly complete guff - sadly companies still give money to people with dubious qualifications/certificates selling these tests or running workshops based on this stuff.

NLP is, in my professional opinion, hocum - but I think there is a lot more mileage in things like Myers-Briggs and Insights.

As for learning styles, I generally come out with a preference for pragmatist and theorist with activist always the lowest.
