Hello chums!
You've caught me on a contemplative day and I know that 'good' means everything and nothing at the same time so perhaps not very useful. Let's start with that shall we?
What is the simple definition of good? Cambridge Dictionary reckons it is very satisfactory, enjoyable, pleasant, or interesting. Merriam Webster (likely not her real name) confusingly lists (and I will reduce the list because it is bewildering):
1
a(1)
: of a favorable character or tendency
good news
(2)
: bountiful, fertile
good land
(3)
: handsome, attractive
good looks
b(1)
: suitable, fit
good to eat
(2)
: free from injury or disease
one good arm
(3)
: not depreciated
bad money drives out good
I like 1a(1) the best although some of you are surely 1a(3), perhaps 1a(2) and certainly (2), if not all of these examples while also being very satisfactory, enjoyable, pleasant, or interesting.
With definitions* and science** on our side***, let's get to the go: Are you a good poster? Let's narrow it further to be specific to this forum but you can add in some flavourful high or lowlights from other internet spaces**** if you like.
Self-reflection moment: I try to be and sometimes succeed. I really, really like these forums, GD in particular, and it's because you are great people. Yes, even @Diddums***** - cheap shot, thank you.
What do you think? Are you a good poster?
take care,
mags.
* barely.
**unlikely.
*** not a chance.
**** unconfirmed but may exist.
