Are you a MAMIL? (a middle-aged man in lycra)

I have to admit to falling into the MAMIL category, yep. Started road cycling about three years ago and I got bitten by the bug really hard. :D

Blagged a Pinarello on my works Cyclescheme and now I ride it more than I do my Aprilia RSV Mille. Started commuting to work back then too and still do. I've never felt fitter and the only thing I ask myself now is "Why on earth did I take so long to do it?".

As I said, absolutely hooked on cycling now, bought a Cube hardtail MTB in April this year and again, I can't get enough of it. Loving MTB'ing now almost more than the road cycling. Biggest pain in the backside now is deciding which bike to go out on. To anyone reading this who isn't a MAMIL - Do it now!!, you won't regret it. Article is pretty close to the mark when it comes to buying bikes and kit I have to say. Missus just rolls her eyes when the postman knocks on the door with yet another package from Wiggle or CRC. :p

Now I'm a cyclist and I wear lycra. Lots of lycra.

Well it does take a lot of lycra sometimes...

Was talking about this article with mates, and the only thing any of us thought after reading was: 'I wonder when I'll have a crack at Ventoux?'

hrm... I need a new charity challenge - although maybe not next year :D

no carbon yet but by the time I hit 35 I'm sure it'll be on the cards...

Oh, and at 36 I dont class myself as middle aged.....although the wife and kids do :(

Ironically though I'm slimmer and fitter than I ever was in my twenties!
