Are you a supermarket snob?

and if so/not, which are your preferred ones?

I detest Asda, I'll drive an extra 10 miles to avoid one and opt for any alternative but most likely a Sainsburys or Aldi. A mixture of clientele and the sheer volume of them, ignorant staff, confusing store layout and useless so called self service areas which now either have conveyor belts or are too small to actually fit your shopping onto. I say so called because I've never used one without requiring assistance of some form.

However, right across the road from my local Asda is an Aldi. Great little shop, got everything I need at a cheaper price, I'll be served by a human and the car park is always near empty... It makes me wonder why more don't shop there?!

In order of prefernce these days I'd have to say:
Sainsburys
Aldi
Lidl
Tesco

My shopping strategy has been the same no matter what supermarket.

Don't use a trolley, only use a hand basket. The end result is there is only so much you can carry in the basket, both in volume and in weight. It always cost between £15-£25 no matter where I shop :p

Has been doing that since uni days.

£15 worth of food doesn't last the week. You're probably spending a fortune on top up shops everyday :p

is it though, i find it very poor quality, not only that its more expensive.
its the one supermarket i try and avoid.

I think it's better quality but that might be down to perception. The packaging, the clientele and overall experience trick your mind into thinking the food is decent :p Then again, I've never not liked any of their goods. It's not M&S but definitely not on par with Asda.

Still don't like Asda after all these years.

Preference tends to lean more towards Lidl now, the meat and veg quality is decent comparing to Sainsbury's. Single malts aren't bad either (except the one in the green bottle). Only use other supermarkets for branded stuff.

Once I had someone ask me where something is, I only pointed at the logo on my top and smiled. I think they were on auto pilot!
Reminds me of a meme thing I seen yesterday:

There are three certainties in life:

1. Death
2. Taxes
3. My wife going radio silent and ignoring every one of my text messages immediately after she sent me to the store for a specific thing

My mrs now knows to keep her phone on her because i will call. Staff just point in the general direction but I need someone to walk me across the store, to the specific aisle and point to the item on the damn shelf :D
