I'm not personally, Silent Hill is one of my favourite game series. But my brother on the other hand, Who is 21. Can't play anything remotely scary.

Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Dead Space. He won't touch them. Even return to castle wolfenstein when you go down into the tombs with zombies.

Another moment, That had me laughing so much, We were playing Gears of War, Co-Op over live. Making our way through the game pretty nicely. And we came face to face with the first beserker. I was talking to him, and explaining how they cant see, and how we've to lead him to the door, and get him to smash it down. It was on screen with the 2 of us once, It roared, ran towards my brother. My brother died instantly. All I heard him say was "not good" and he said dinner was ready and left. Needless to say this was about 6 months ago and we've not played since.

So are any of you afraid to play horror genre games?

I recently completed Dead Space and while i wasn't too afraid to play it, quite the opposite in fact, i did get the crap scared out of me several times. There are certain sections (such as mr regerenation) that i could only play in 15 min stints as my nerves would just ware down too much.

With that said though, it was one of the best games i've played in a long time BECAUSE it scared the bejeebus out of me. Being scared (when there's no real danger obviously) is fun for me, the adrenaline rush is fantastic.

Guess it just isn't for some people?

i have dead space and i play it even tho it scares lawl lawl lawl and res isnt scary and silent hill is just boring, dead space on scary game tbh

Dead space is the new survival horror king, silent hill is a bit meh and resi isn't survival horror any more.

Long live the new king tho tbh, scariest game i've played since silent hill 2.

I would say the likes of the Fatal Frame series of games where I would try to only play it at the right times during the day and even then, I take it slow and easy. I don't want to stay awake thinking about it or end up having nightmares late at night. I tend to dream a lot so I don't want to screw up my sleeping :D.

hehe, gotta say i don't like scary games, or horror films... i would thoroughly enjoy a scary game in split screen co-op tho :p

used to be scared of all "scary games" when I was younger, currently loving Resident Evil DS, which is a remake of the Ps1 version, GET IT if you haven't played it

I remember when my mate Yan was playing AvP2 and he jumped so hard he actually bounced off his chair!
Haven't seen him in years actually, I think he works for Eidos now.

I'm scared to play games such as My Horse & Me 2 :( I have no idea how people like Wyrdo can finish the game let alone play it.

Wasn't ever really scared of games, but I jump pretty damn easily so even playing things like Bioshock I had times where I got a huge shock from something jumping out :P

When I was 10 years old Resident Evil 2 on psx was brilliant.

I just re-played the resi 1 remake on the gamecube and whilst it had the occasional zombie jumping through a window it just isn't scary to me now:(

Silent hill 3 is the scariest game I have played by far......but I think the music in SH is why it is scary more than anything!

Being scared (when there's no real danger obviously) is fun for me, the adrenaline rush is fantastic.

I completely 100% agree with you there :p

Overall i didnt find dead space scary because i knew that theres no real danger, however there where bits that gave me quite a fright :D

not played dead space yet but for me its condemned. Nothing like a late night gaming session on a big screen with surround sound for undy changing goodness lol

I pap myself at scary games, and sometimes have to take breaks.

Most recently was stalker when you have to go into those research labs. *shudder*

Ant

For me, any Resident Evil game, and yes, that includes 4 & 5; Doom 3; Farcry and Alone in the Dark (whichever version had "Obed Morten").
