Well, here's the situation:
A 19y.o. really needs to find a way to be a temporary policy holder (i.e. being able to drive the car on an ad hoc weekly basis whenever he needs to) for his mother's Audi A4 (B7), 2.0 diesel. He's said that there will be a period of a week or so next year when he'll really need it - so much that he's prepared to be bus-dependent for the rest of the year to make up for it.
He's called around, and pretty much every single one of them won't insure him, on account of the car (brand new, powerful, etc) and his age. One or two have also said that his may have to be prepared to change to a different insurer that will allow temporary policies.
Is there any way of seeing whether a broker or somebody would even consider it? I seem to remember a couple of insurance experts here...Merlin or somebody?
Edit: Considering that there are people out there the same age as him driving far more powerful or modified cars, there must be a way, surely?
