Im soo sick of rendered videos, why cant they just show in game ffs. E3s terrible now, all you see is rendered game videos (stupid ps3 for starting it). Its even in the adverts for cod2, moh and things to fool people. Apart from Dead Rising which I cant wait for they are all rendered.

Yes, I do think they're rubbiosh, but they're not exactly a new thing.

Most reasonable minded people will easily spot a rendered game, as it's pretty easy, but the gullable/narrowminded/fanboys will always fall for those kinds of things.
 
Its been going on for ages.. but the PS3 did do something new.. which was say "this is what we want it to look like ingame".. which meant all the fanboys went up in arms saying this is what its going to be like

Isnt there some sort of legal aspect being discussed as to whether showing adverts like Activisions are allowed on television? because it basically is false advertising to the general masses who think it all looks like that.

Oh and yeah adverts containing non-ingame footage must display a message stating that (in the smallest font available)
 
videos for PGR look amazing but everytime ive played it in shops theres jaggys left right and centre :(

put me off buying a 360 for now
 
I know what you mean, the Fable 2 teaser was one of the worst for it at E3.

But they're are some honest and good developers / pulishers so it's not all dispair... Halo 3, Moto GP, and the opening to MS's E3 with a live demo of Gears of War.
 
although the ps3 is guilty of this, theres game cropping up on every console that are pre rendered, it reminds me of when you get a big mac and it never looks like the picture.

but at the end of the day, most games over the age of 15 would spot pre rendered footage and decide wether to get the game or not

AND pre rendered adverts doesnt mean the game sucks, look at cod 2 for example, a truly classic game

Good analogy but I'd rather eat a PS3 game ;)

To be honest I dont take much notice of the games which are rendered videos. You can almost always spot them so I assume the real game must suck.
 
The type of people that get taken in by this sort of thing are complete idiots anyway, i'm glad they're giving away their money. It's a good thing.

To be honest if the ad has no in game action, then I will generally make the assumption that it's too awful to be shown on tv. Thus being, in all likelyhood, pants.

Go read a review and do some research, it only takes 10 mins.

Showing pre rendered footage in uk video game adverts was banned iirc.

they just need to include a disclaimer thing saying that it isn't ingame footage

I think the GRAW advert pushes it a bit far, where you see everything in first person view, including the HUD and stuff, I was thinking it can't really look like that, then saw the disclaimer.

I havn't really paied attention to the advert (I already own the game) but I suspect it might be the game's intro. So it is game footage as sorts, just pre-rendered. Some games are advertised with footage that never comes close to being included with the game.

Also GRAW does look stuning anyway (just not quite that stunning)
