Are you thinking of buying a Canon 5D?

Eurg, I hate rebates, why cant they just knock £200 off the RRP? Because then every one claims it instead of a select few.
 
It's all about the profit.

Customer A doesn't mind paying the extra money and so buys the camera anyway, Canon make £200 extra from them.

Customer B is a die-hard bargain seeker, and will go to extreme lengths to knock the £200 off the price of the camera. Canon make a sale where they wouldn't have before.
