An unknown virus has been released inside Area 51, and Team Bravo has been assigned to clean it up. First, due to a manpower shortage, they must protect a transport truck being targeted by a saboteur. Once inside, the team discovers that the virus turns people into murderous mutants, and anyone killed by a mutant turns into a mutant themselves.
Download Patch v1.2 to recieve the most satisfactory playthrough of the game.

Area 51 at first starts out with intense combat where the player has several AI teammates with him (ranging from two to seven most of the time) versus hordes of mutants. Notable among the voice actors are David Duchovny (as Ethan Cole), Marilyn Manson (as Edgar the ancient and powerful Grey), Powers Boothe (as Major Bridges), and Ian Abercrombie (as Dr. Cray).

Yep me , it's the original area 51 i thought it was blacksite lol. The Fov was really squashed and the textures are awful

Lol...i remember this the first time around....

Just one of many generic Unreal 2 engine powered FPS that seem to come out in 2003-2005...

6/10....

Might give this a try i remember playing the demo a while back. Thanks for the heads up.

If its based on the Unreal engine i would guess you could change the fov in the ini's.

I think I had this on the Ps2, was a 'meh' game. I had absolutely no idea what was going on later into the game, just plowed through never to play it again.

Was a great game when it came out in 2005 but horribly dated now as also has Starforce DRM so unless this version is patched it can cause your PC to BSOD when it installs the Starforce drivers as Starforce released a patch to make it work with Vista/Windows7.

They gave this away a few years ago with ingame advertising supporting that release.

I completed this game. It is very mundane and I would go so far as to say it is one of the worst games I have completed (note that's a very different thing from the worst game I've played, it implies that there was just enough there to keep me playing).

Also there was some hideous bug whereby if your framerate is over ~100fps the jump button doesn't work sometimes. In the end I had to turn vsync on to beat some of the sections with jumps. Graphics options are highly limited, essentially it is a blatant console port with very little effort put into the PC version.

Duchovny's voice acting is atrocious, just going through the motions, and the storyline is laughable with your mutations etc. To be honest if it didn't have a squad based element I probably would have given up on it.
