This may sound a bit stupid but.
Say my house can only get 7 meg. I order 8 meg broardband and only get about 3/4 meg. If i ordered 20 meg would that 3/4 meg go up to 7meg?

If it can get 7 meg it can get 7 meg full stop, non?

Unless there's a special form of broadband mathematics I haven't been introduced to.

You should worry more about why you're only getting 0.75 Mbps when you claim your residence should receive 7.

You will get the max speed your line can support on any package.

If you can only get 7meg, then you will get 7meg regardless if its an 8meg package or 20meg. (obviously if you order a 2meg package, you will only get 2 etc).

You might gain a little, not because you're changing from "8 meg" to "20 meg" but rather because the underlying technology changes to switch from ADSL (up to 8Mbps) to ADSL2+ (up to 24Mbps). If you're getting either 3-4Mbps or 0.75Mbps, you're not going to gain a great deal.
