Argh! Can't jailbreak and sync to pc?

I just synced my pc to my iPhone first time after jailbreaking and it totally rearranged all of my icons! This will take forever to restore. Is there anyway I can sync to my iPhone but retain my folders the way they're meant to be?

run a previous backup that you had before the jailbreak and it will rearrange all your icons back into there proper places once you do that sync again and press create backup

right click device in itunes and press create backup to save the state of your icons

Backup's don't restore app's or the place they are backed up. Tried this already

I'm just going to have to rearrange again.

actually itunes backup does backup where you last had your icons it did on mine anyway.

Had the same problem, for some reason it remembered a couple of folders I had but I had to select all my apps within iTunes to be sync'd across again and then I had to arrange into each folder. Took about an hour.

I jb a 3GS last night, I created a backup just before doing it. Couple of questions I just need clearing up, should I turn automatic backup off in iTunes as if I hooked the 3GS up to the PC now to sync would it overwrite the backup I created before the jailbreak?

Also, if after a month I decide not to want the jb any more and I restore to the backup, will I lose a months worth of data (game saves etc) and all apps I had downloaded or is there something that'll remedy this?

I think hiding apps and the five icon dock maybe messed it up - as I doubt iTunes recognises these? So before I sync I move my 5th item onto my springboard and unhide all apps. This seems to be working thus far. Not ideal but the more i'm using jailbreak the more i'll learn I guess about all the little niggles.
