Argh, choices, choices ....!

Just swapped out an Swiftech Apogee combo pump/block with matching 1.120 rad/res unit in favour of an EK Supreme LT, cheapo pump/res combo unit and 3.120 rad.

Obviously while googling my old block/pump unit for some info to put in my MM thread i find my old kit has the pump unit that can be modded to 18w, gah!

BUT do i refit it as a combo block/pump (but modded) or buy a pump top and run the current EK Supreme block with the "new" pump?

Running the block/pump unit means i have to drop down to 8mm pipework from the current 1/2" stuff but i'm sure the budget can handle a handful of barbs as the Swiftech combo unit has moulded barbs.

Of course to muddy the waters some more, i've got an Eheim HPPS-i sat here too, but i'm planning on using that for a separate vga, chipset, mosfet loop.

Any ideas/suggestions?

What mobo you got. Unless its old no point in cooling it.

p5b-deluxe. thinking along the lines of big air passive on the southbridge (not that it gets hot with the standard thing on it).

Already got blocks on the nb and mosfets so the mobo+vga loop is look definate, just a matter of what pump.

Is it a fusion block

Just Googled it thought it was a fusion block fitted as standard but its not.

Instead of spending all your money cooling old tech why dont you upgraded

I've already got most of the parts (had them in a box for over a year!) so there no real extra spending involved and the system isn't struggling with anything (portal 2 and TF2 max out so i'm happy!), i'm just trying to work out what to fit & what to sell.

What pump is it that you have got.

Pump currently in the cpu circuit is a 8-10w combo res/pump unit, no idea of brand, system currently reaches after 10 loops of intel cpu burn, with no fans running on the 360 rad.

Pump option 1 is a Swiftech Apogee combo pump/block with the 10w (modded to 18w) Laing pump inside it, this would mean removing the EK Supreme-LT block though.

Pump option 2 is an Eheim HPPS-i (6w), which would let me keep the EK cpu block and bigger pipework.

Just trying to pick people brains before i rip the machine to bits again and have the painful 24 hours of not having my machine to play with
