ARGH message pop ups!

Hi,

Recently got alienware m17x r4 laptop and this friggin message telling me to switch gfx card keeps popping up and when I have power adapter plugged in it keeps switching from battery message to charger message.

Is there an option to turn this off? If not who do I contact to call an idiot for a pointless message system?

If it keeps switching between messages even with the adaptor plugged in there could be a problem with the power jack.

If you wiggle the jack and the message flashes around in tandem it could be the jack.

Some of them use odd methods to detect whether the jack is plugged in, it could be one pin is damaged or something. (Note Dell are awful for this, with their 9 pin jacks, horrible things to have to solder)

But tbh, it sounds like a software glitch to me. Do you have a genuine adaptor, out of interest?

I have the one sent from dell.

I can wiggle it round but it it doesn't solve the problem. No idea what to do as there only seems to be one whole in the adapter that plugs into the laptop and a 3 one on the power pack.

I've followed the guide from a dell representative to re-install the drivers and it's still happening.

TBH I'm quite annoyed I've been sent a laptop without the proper drivers or even a cd for them...
