Argh, still need a decent back-up solution for Server 2008 R2

Not getting on with Backup Exec really, I have obtained a copy from work as we have licences so I tried it out at home.

Just seems a bit too much for home use

Anything else that's good to use? that I could obtain

Depends on a) what you mean by "obtain", and b) what kind of links you have with Microsoft licensing (MSDN, dreamspark, silver/gold partnership, other link through work).

Only other real option is to build a dedicated backup server (or backup virtual server) and configure something like bacula.

I have msdn links, pretty much where most of my os's have come from, just never asked about backup solution from them using MSDN links, I'll see what I can dig out from the massive disk folder

I really feel guilty about using all these though

Of course it's for learning purposes
