Help!!

Its not the best time for a computer to go funny as exams loom etc etc ... but I was just reinstalling Vista x64 today, went off to do my laundry and came back to see the pc off. Tried turning it back on ... nothing. I get blue lights off my board but no fans spin, nothing. Just lights. Spec below ...

P5B-Deluxe
E6300
8GB OCZ Platinum
Seasonic 500W Modular PSU
9800GT 1GB
9600GT 512MB

The RAM, and both graphics cards are brand new. They've been running a couple of days with no issues and temps were well within tolerance.

I suspect either PSU or Motherboard, but I don't have spares to check. Any ideas?? All stock voltages and frequencies, bar AI NOS.

I've been considering an upgrade to i7 anyways, but it'd be abit of a waste of the RAM as I only got it last week.

Thanks!

have you tried using the older grpahics cardand not using the new one and also same with ram as light on mobo normaly mean that the psu and mobo are fine from what i have came across

Just a thought have your tried resetting the BIOS, just take the battery out and then leave it for about a couple of minutes and then put it back in again and then see if the system will boot.

Well ... I've replacing the bits I can, i.e. ram (even single dimms in different slots), Old GPU, and disconnected my drives from the PSU too.

Nothing. Just lights, no post, no fan spin and I have checked that the switch is connected properly

might be a stupid question but have you pulled the power out of the psu so its completely off, i know you most likely would have when you swapped the parts, but I have a similar issue with my PSU when it got to hot.

left unplugged for a few mins to reset the thermal switch and it powered back up fine

its the mobo i think. i just "tested" the psu by shorting the power on pin to ground and my drives and fans spun.

abit more testing me thinks

My bro had the exact same problem with his P5B-Deluxe.

Lots of articles on asus forums about it - something to do with it running high speed memory, and the bios defaulting to lower speeds. The only way to 'reset' it was to buy some low speed memory (5300) and plug that in. It should then boot and you can manually change the settings.

All a bit vague, but if you have a scout on the asus forums you should find some more info.

Good luck
