Hi...

Hoping someone might be able to spread alittle light on my PC problem, its been going on for about a month and its now driving me crackers.

Basically it keeps freezing up and sometimes can takes hours before its userable again. Its seems random but can happen when using WMP or just surfing the net, the screens just freeze without warning. The only thing that seems to help get it going again is if I can get ad-aware to start scanning then it generally is ok, but this might only last an hour or two until it might go again. If I switch the computer off and try and reboot, it tends to sit with a black screen for anything from 20 minutes to afew hours then will carrying on loading Windows. I've used ad-aware, NOD32 & AVG to scan and they're not finding anything significant, so I'm kind of puzzled to whats happening. They only issue I've had with this PC is about 2 months ago I managed to get a virus that hiijacked the addresses I was trying to go to via google.

Sorry thats abit of a mission read, any help with whats wrong and/or how to get this sorted would be greatly appreciated :)

My PC spec is

Try a Windows reinstall to be honest I have no idea wot might be causing ur problem but get in touch with dell before u do anything like a complete reinstall, is the comp still under warranty?
