Ark Survival of the Fittest - This was originally a Battle Royal style game mod from mainstream ARK but due to popularity, the developers have made it a seperate game.

SoTF Home

The game is much more optiomised graphically and in performance, with a player rating system for ranking player success. If you are into ARK pvp, this is taking it to the next level. Hunger Games style. :D

What's more it is free, yes FREE to play.

Come and join the fun available on steam.

Update - the game now has a ranking system in which you get a grading similarily to what they use in Chess.

Won quite a few games since it became an independant game and last night came across a streamer who only spoke french. You can watch the game below if you like, it will give you a idea what sotf is like and how it differs from mainstream ARK. Come on you Ark pros time to take it to the next level :) thinking to get 4 more recruits to challenge the 6 man games which can takes up to 2 hours. Current 2 man games only takes 1 hour.

Fast forward to 1 H 31mins. TeKKeN my ingame name but did not understand a word of what he was saying?

Anyone help translate?

Omaeka needs to get his finger out and join us :)

The games way more optomise than it was before. Stable as well.

This followed up well to my question about ark in the other thread not so long ago then :D

Has the performance for this improved at all?

Also, any proper 21.9 support yet?

The performance of that game completely ruined it for me.

What about the 2nd question, any ideas?

With the new division patch out, I probably won't get around to trying this till the weekend.

Meh, as with all battle royale type random loot drop games, the winner is decided when the loot randomly spawns in. Played it enough as it came out last year that if I'm going to play Ark it's the base game I'll be playing. :p

Why not set up on a PVP server?

I can get 60-100fps in the base game with -sm4 -useallavailablecores and -d3d10 launch options and a mixture of low/med/high. I think I have buffering to epic, view distance to epic, anti aliasing to low, general shadows on high and ground shadows on low, textures on high.

Still looks decent, but in no way as good as how the game is advertised, but Ark is very luck based on how it will run, people with average PCs are setting solid 30-60fps on epic with no launch options. With those kind of settings I get 4 or less. :D

How long ago did u try this? Also SoTF loads up fairly quickly. You dont need high end but you do need a ok spec pc (with plenty of memory) to run this well. 21.9 support is that monitor size?

Young Grasshopper you have a lot to learn :p. The drops still happen but they are no longer loaded with weapons like before. All drops only have resource material and soups. There the occassiaonl scope but no weapons or firearms, (that i have seen and i played over 50 games since release). Therefore you still have to work for it whether you craft (tech) your way up to firearms or tame your way to victory. Both have pros and cons and the variety of dinos avaialble make it extremely strategic and intresting. So no more lucky drops to determine the game. The drops are all hit and miss these days.

It better optomised as i mentioned before and i think it down to the graphics card. You dont need everything turned right up to experience why this game is so good and challenging. Personally brings out the competitive thrill for me. This is the best PvP action imo. You only have 1 life in the game and once you die that it. New game. Join me and try it first :D

Urg it's the ARK version of H1Z1 Battle Royale

:(

I dont know when h1z1 version got released but i have been playing for this for quite a few years now. It only recently been released as a seperate game because of the popularity.

will dl it now give it a go :p
uninstalled :p

You honestly gave it a go? Downloaded it and found a lobby loaded it up in less than 30 mins? This is the next level of ARK so recommend that you play the base game before going into this otherwise it a steep learning curve.

Quite a few years? Thought it only released as Early Access last year? Heck, the studio was only founded in 2014... :p

When I last tried the game, I did all the suggested fixes but FPS was still **** and the lag was horrendous even with a lot of the settings on low/off and the draw distance was terrible too.

All in all, it was not worthy of the £20+ price tag.

About 8-12 months ago iirc so I would like to think it has improved a lot since :p

My PC is in sig.

No, it is an aspect ratio. The base game had no 21.9 support whatsoever so 16.9 was stretched for everything, made the game look awful.
