arma 2 experts please help

ok so we decided to give it a go, but with no success!!
cant get past mission 1, nothing seems to work!! even wondered around the whole map and found a bunch of enemies and shot them but they didn't want to shoot back!! must have been pacifist rebel solders!


what the hell are we suppose to do??

i think something is wrong with the game?
game downloaded from steam while on there special price!

thanks for your advice guys.
seems to have sorted it self out weirdly!!
done the same thing 5 times in fow no success! 6th time it done it and things started working,

once i get my head around this game in single/coop mode could move onto online multiplayer
