Itching for a new game.

Wouldn't mind trying this milsim. What's the craic with it now? Plenty of downloads loads of patches....here it was horribly buggy.

Would it run well on my rig? What do I need to buy to get what most people are playing on line in terms of expansion packs?

Once I buy do I just search for servers and join?

Done plenty of squad work in bfbc2 and bf3 so use to working in a team. Are all the server private or is their public hosted ones?

Will be fine on your rig! Also the bugs were in Arma II but I think a lot were fixed, Operation Arrowhead is much better with bugs though.

got to love kids that need the constant reassurance from their peers that they have the best stuff out there.

Honestly, if you want to experience decent online coop/pvp arma2: operation arrowhead then joining a community/clan is a must. I hate the stock game, I hate the stock MP modes, I hate it I hate it! But absolutely love the community/ace mods etc.

Hang on a minute folks.

Please don't jump on me here. I ain't like that.

My concern is around my CPU. I understand Arma to be a complex sim and probably CPU intensive. As my CPU came out just before (i think) then the game could be more demanding than the current processor of that day. Like FSX!

Not at all mean to brag or seek assurance I have the best. That ain't me.

Can you point me in a direction of a clan to join?
I really need to read up more on this game first. I think I'd like it a lot. An advance BF game sounds good.

Are mods free from the community u join?

Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead & Reinforcements would be good..
Six Updater is great for sorting mods/addons etc and will also tell you which mod is needed for each server.
Make sure you patch to 1.60 when you get your game and to be honest its best to come right upto the latest Beta, however I think you could have some problems getting on some servers, so maybe stick at the 1.60 patch to begin with.
Many of the bugs and running issues have been sorted, it has been optimised much better over the past couple of patches. It still has a few bugs, but none to dampen your gameplay experience..
This is a great forum to keep upto date with mods, addons etc, plus clans/multiplayer..
