arma II not installing properly (from greenmangaming deal

im sure a lot of you saw the deal where arma II was given away for free in greenmangaming, and the message from them saying it wasnt installing correctly for some people. well, i am in that group of people who cant get it to install correctly and was wondering if anyone had a solution.

ive asked in the free games thread but theres been no response so far :(

I have this same problem i already have this game but it s on gamersgate and i would have to download it with me just buying a new pc i tried everything to get it working just not loading up when i click on the game i think the problem was when downloading it i gave up and just downloaded my copys of GG not had a problem since. :)

I had that problem when i first installed it mentioning something about Directx so reinstalled that and then the game. After that it worked fine. Do you get an specific messages?

Mine is still downloading. I've apparently downloaded 7.3GB and ow I'm left with a minus figure to download ? and something like 428487458475 mins left lol.
 
I have this same problem. i already have this game, but its on gamersgate - and i would have to download it (what) with me just buying a new pc.

I tried everything to get it working, just not loading up when i click on the game. I think the problem was when downloading it. I gave up and just downloaded my copys of(f) GG, not had a problem since. :)

punctuation is your friend. Its still borderline tho.
 
If anyone is having issues with a negative download being displayed... goto the folder you are storing the capsule temporary files and you should be a load of 100 meg files. (102,400). You MAY notice that one of the files is not fully downloaded (not file 76 btw..), so delete that one.

NOTE: The download will start downloading from the file that is missing, including ALL the ones you have already downloaded after that.. so copy them out whilst that corrupted file is downloading, then when it's starts the next file you actually have downloaded, copy them all back in :-)

With luck your download should now be complete and ready to install.

EDIT: Actually DELETE file 76 do it forces it to resume from file 76 :-)

EDIT 2: Bah.. forget it.. I have even gone as far as changing the dates on the files, but it won't recognise that I've already got the files.. it insists on resuming from the last known downloaded file. REALLY irritating as I'm only on file 15 of 76 that I have already downloaded *sigh*.
