Experience authentic Cold War combat and join the struggle for the sprawling, mid-Atlantic island of Everon and its smaller, offshore territory, Arland – or take on the role of Game Master and create your very own scenarios for others to enjoy.
Powered by the new Enfusion engine, Arma Reforger enlists you in the fight for two incredible islands, spanning a total of 61 km2, in an authentic Cold War setting. Battle it out in the Conflict multiplayer game mode, or create your own scenarios in Game Master, a real-time editor where anything can happen. Explore the all new terrain of Arland and return to nearby Everon, the mid-Atlantic microstate from the hit game that started it all, Arma: Cold War Assault.

Arma Reforger is the latest installment in the Arma franchise, offering a versatile, creative, and fully-moddable platform that redefines the mil-sim genre.

Arma Reforger 1.0 is officially here!
With the completion of the features in the Ground Support Milestone, the addition of helicopters, and the total overhaul of the supply system, the core Arma Reforger feature set is now live.

1.0 encompasses the essence of Arma Reforger's gameplay: it's complex, it's fun to play, and the technical state has reached a level that we consider ready to leave Early Access. This is by no means the end of the game's development, and our team is working tirelessly to fulfill the plans according to the project's Roadmap.

I remember I got a copy of Operation Flashpoint Red River free with my i5 2500k. Having played it I still felt ripped off. Hopefully this is better.

Is this a consistent battlefield or skirmish type events With timers/ cap limits?

I've played a LOT of ARMA3 with friends. It's "skirmish type events", but hugely detailed and realistic. A friend of mine got heavily into it, and ended up playing with a lot of people who were actual military using it for training missions etc. It's different to anything else I've played and is excellent. The modding scene is also huge, and very good. I've been playing on a mode where, for example, if you get your map out at night, you need to use your torch to see it, and the enemy may spot you, and to communicate with your fellow players who are out of "earshot" you can only do so via walkie talkies.

My understanding (from my friend who has something absurd like 9000 hours on this on Steam) is that ARMA3 is currently much more fully featured, and widely used and supported. Reforger is basically a tech demo pending ARMA4.

You can also pick up ARMA3 super cheap now. If I were you, I'd get that, see if you enjoy it, and then get ready for ARMA4. Reforger seems a bit of a stop gap which the hardcore ARMA group are fairly disinterested in.

I was really looking forward to this but when I played it, I just couldn't get into it even though I loved Arma 3. Maybe I'm burnt out on DayZ Standalone and the like..

Refund issued... ( Not a bad game, just not for me now )

Neither really?

It seems to have served more as a paid testbed for Arma 4.
As it stand, Arma 3 is still the MUCH better buy, especially as its on sale very often now.
Agreed, I'm amazed they have the audacity to charge for this and even more so people are paying to 'play' it
Either get Arma 3 for buttons or hold out for Arma 4..

Operation Flashpoint Red River
Has nothing whatsoever with Arma games.
Dragon Rising and Red River were made by Codemasters after Bohemia Interactive split from them.
Bohemia Interactive then had to rename original Operation Flashpoint to Arma: Cold War Assault, because Codemasters owned the trademark for OPF.
Bohemia then selfpublished all their future games under Arma brand.

Arma Reforger is sort of a multiplayer-focused remake of original Operation Flashpoint. Same setting, but on completely new engine with remade assets. But no story campaign. And yes it serves as a stepping stone to full Arma 4.

Can't remember the name now, but played Arma Reforger last night (King of the Hill) and another Overclocker was on there...

GG dude! Although I did rage with swearing at one point

That will be me 'FatF'inglenny' :p

I've got to eat some humble pie though as I was against getting this but had a blast on it. I bought it that day while on sale.

It is chaos and rage inducing madness but that is part of the fun :D

Hah, nice one dude!!

Overclockers? YEH! LETS DO THIS!

Btw reason I was raging, I was in a room and a friendly team mate was below me walking about room to room. He came into my room and I said "dude you made me jump". He then walks around the room behind me, pushes past me. Then decides before leaving to turn around and just wipe me out. I was shouting " Hey dude, wtf, don't team kill ". Ignores and does it anyway.

Sufficed to say I was

Anyway, will be on again tonight! Garfo is another team mate I play with via Discord :D
