Is this still worth playing today? Not tried it yet but quite tempted. My lappy isn't good enough to run the newer version and I really enjoy Project Reality and was willing to give this a go if it's still popular online?

I wouldn't say so - most clans/communities have moved their servers over to ArmA 2. On the upside though, you have the ACE mod available for ArmA 1 which is definitely worth it.

Why not give it a go, loads of user missions and mods must be available. I'm sure you'll still get a hardcore who play it online.

Have you tried the Arma II demo? I played Arma I on my laptop with most settings pretty high and it played very nicely. Arma II demo plays nicely but I have just had to turn the details all down. Still a great experience though. So much so that I've ordered the full game

Yeah I tried it last week and it didn't run very well at all even with most settings turned down low so I thought I might go for the original instead as it stands a better chance or running well on my lappy.
