Armed Assault 2 - Screenshots

None of that looks really that impressive and based off Armed Assault I guess its going to take about 10 very large patches to just get rid of half the bugs it WILL be riddled with before even the developers get bored with it and give up.

Looks awesome, should be out this year, though people may have had problems with ArmA & OF, I think that they are both very good games, but it does take a certain mindset to play and enjoy them, imho :)

Some more shots here, also.
Aren't we still waiting for OF2 ? Here's hoping!

Operation flashpoint was one of the best games i have ever played but Armed Assaults single player experiance was just bland and had no atmosphere.

Considering that OF2 is being developed for consoles as well, i worry that they will numb it down into being a ghost recon clone.

nice shots, I hope the AI and missions are much improved over Arma 1, I just sold my copy but am waiting for arma2 and ofp2.

It remaining very faithful to the original afaik.. And you might want to read the preview in PC-zone, has some grea screenies etc.

So is this is the name for the untitled game 2 that Bohemia were developing?

Looking at the BIS Forums, I guess it is! Wow, they showed a demo of this at e3 in 2007 or was it 2006? They have been working on this just as long as Arma.

ArmA was just such a bad game. The copy protection that refused to work on PC with burning software. The visuals that don't run properly smooth in any low setting. Horible, horible vehicle control with one of the weirdest cartoon beatbox home made engine sounds in history of gaming. That weird Wii controler like bobbing aim point, which would only move rifle instead of turn whole body in small moves, so you can perform retardedly ackward shots with your body bent 95 degrees exposed sideways to the target. The omnipotent enemy sniping your legs in deepest of covers with pea shooting handguns from 900 yards away just so you have to crawl prone for hours to the extraction point 10 miles away. The AI intelligence that makes them circle in copters until they run out of fuel and crash on mountain sides.

Yeah, ArmA series will never see my wallet again.

Sounds like you had a positive experience then :p

While I loved what the first 2 games tried to achieve (simulation wise), I feel this game has to progress a lot if its to be a popular console game. Armed assault is still very raw in a lot of aspects and they have to get some proper voice acting in as well. Unknown, MAN, 2 O clock with random bits of sound files stuck together.

Getting your legs crippled in battle with no transport around you has to be the most annoying aspect of the game :p Crawling 2 miles along the floor is hardcore but at the same time a bit annoying

Played a bit of Co-op with 2-3 mates on Opreation flashpoint. The netcode was terrible with 200+ pings but still fun and playable at times.

ArmA1 has come such a long way since its release....currently at v1.12 and stable.

ArmAII is beginning to take shape, and cant see any other game having that kind of detail in such a large open spaced terrain.

Im sure there are a lot of players who have given up on ArmA, due to its very poor release state(admittedly), but even if you was slightly interested in the game Id recommend a reinstall and patch....get some practice in ready for ArmAII

The whole OFP/ArmA product line is definitely an acquired taste, bit like wine....and matures with age!

Once OFP:Resistance was released they had fixed the net code. I had a lot of fun times playing coop with my mates instead of doing college work! :D

The other thing i loved about this game was that there were plenty of mods for it. Playing Capture the Island with 8 mates against the computer excellent! I hope they improve their own version of CTI with the next ArmA/OFP.

How often do they release patches? Played armed assault about a year ago but never managed to play it online this time cause my mates didn't want to try it out :(

I kinda enjoyed the arma 1 demo tho i was crap at it and didnt even understand where to go and where enimys was or where my fps was for a dx8 looking game, but im actually looking forward to arma2 now iv just seen them screenshots, looks a bit like a re-newed battlefield 2 :D
