Hi,

I got Arma ages ago when it was first released and started playing it.

Took a break from it for a bit as I was busy with work on the PC, and then rebuilt a new system.

I had backed up my Arma saved games onto an external hard drive at the time, along with a load of other stuff.

Took a fancy today to reinstall Arma and once I had done so, hooked up the old backup hard drive to grab the saved game files.

But the hard drive is toast!!. Can't read a thing off it. :(

So, has anyone got an Arma saved game they could email me?. Or even a link to somewhere online I can download one?.

I think I was only a handful of missions into the game iirc, seem to remember one of the last missions I played was one where you are put in charge of a squad for the first time or it might have been that one where you are dropped off at a bridge by a HUMVEE and you have to plant explosives on the bridge before a column of tanks roll through?.

What would be really handy is a 100% save game so I can flick through the missions to see if I can find where I left off.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Ok, I've found one online and downloaded it.

But I have no idea where to put each of the folders and files so I can jump into this players Campaign and have a look around at the missions?. :(

Problem solved!!!

Found the ahem...."cheats" online and I've just used the "endmission" command to skip forward to where I left off.

/runs off to his Stryker.....:D

I tried playing ArmA the other day as I found Operation Flashpoint great fun back in the day. Wow the graphics are terrible! The AI seemed really stupid and from what I saw (only played a few missions) the gameplay was a bit lacking to say the least. How did this game get rated so highly?

The patches address many of the textures/graphics issues as well as the AI.

However, your right - it's certainly not perfect by any manner of means.

I think it's just got "something" though, as far as gameplay goes.

Not to mention the massive community it has as far as mods and add on missions.

I just started playing again after a break of 6 months or so. I've only ever played ArmA online, and some of the coop missions like Evo are awesome if you are with a good bunch of people. The Warfare mode also looks interesting.

Of course, the game doesn't look like Crysis but it's pretty functional. You do need a high clocked CPU to get the most out of it and mods help a lot too. I'm currently running the ArmA Effects graphics mod and the HiFi sound mod.

Hi,

What graphics mod are you using and is it any good m8?.

Quite fancy trying a few mods now I'm getting back into this game.

Also, and I recall having this problem before, when you have a squad under your command all loaded into a vehicle like a truck or APC for example, is there a key or a quick way to get them all to disembark from the vehicle?.

Other than pressing each function key relating to each soldier, I can't work out how to do it and there doesn't seem to be any mention of it in the game manual.

This is the mod I am using, it mainly concentrates on particle effects:

ArmA Effects

I am sure there are shortcuts and hotkeys for managing your squad, but I never really recruit any squad members in my multiplayer games so can't help you there.

Thanks for the link m8.

I'll take a look at that right now.

I'll dig around online for more info on the hotkey thing, I dont really have time to get into MP with Arma, it's more of a "quick fix" in SP that I've reinstalled it for!!
