Army game: Get BF2 or wait for COD4?

Yeah...they break things...the latest patch seems to have smoothed things out its no even close to some of the other patches in terms of bugs.
Its a good game, and not have i have been told COD4 has no vehicles i won't be buying that, i play infantry only in BF2 but its nice to have something to drive.

In CSS you just grab a server, maybe wait a while while u download sounds, then your playing.

In BF2, youve got to fight your way through the buggy slow server browser, then find a server that isnt 24/7 Karkand, then wait an age for it to load, then chance your luck as to whether your going to get:

a.) Lost Connection to server straight away
b.) A few mins of play before you get connection probs then it drops back to browser.
c.) A good round ruined half way through by losing connection to server
d.) Being Tked for a jet/no reason every 5 mins
e.) Getting in a good squad and having the best 30 mins-1 hour youll ever have, until it happend again!! (Which it rarely does)

since they added infantry-only maps to BF2, its been a totally different game.

playing on inf servers is almost always option E. i've just stopped after 90minutes of gameplay on one server and it was completely awesome.

i agree though, the server browser is crap.

BF2 is all about trigger control. you can waste an entire mag in FA trying to kill someone but only hit them once, or you could shoot slowly and accurately and kill them with 3-5 shots. COD4 is just a spray & pray game. "look, there's an enemy... *SSSPPPRRRAAAAAYYY!!!!*. NEXT!" boooring.

COD4 sounds like it has some nice little features in MP. Was reading a review and it said you can kinda customise your character. Can't wait for next week.. Am so bored of so many WW2 games! :)

However, BF2 is still one of the best MP games out! Its one of the few that has kept me playing since its release.. Once you find a few decent servers that are well moderated it makes it so much better. I stopped playing for about half a year and have started again but can't seem to find the servers I used to play on! :(

I used to play BF2 quite a bit, i find it to be a fantastic pick up and play multi player game.. the maps to get a bit repetitive, but all great fun, definately worth the 15 notes you can pick it up for
 
BF2 sucks...

not the game itself but the childish players who play it, the ranking system just makes everyone so short tempered and is abused by lame clans who stat pad on their own servers, kill them a few times and you get banned..

I played the game for about 3 months when first out then quit because of it, I came back about a year later and played again for about the same amount of time before being banned from just about every server lol, no I wasn't cheating/tk or whatever just made the mistake of killing admins. They just make up fake excuses for bans. My advice dont play it, shame cos the game itself is good.
 
Go for both.

BF2 is great, with a few good mods out for it - project reality and POE2.

COD4 MP is bloody good fun too, played the beta on the 360 and it was awesome. I would get it for pc, but me pc sucks :(

banned from every server :/ tbh you must have been doing something wrong! I've played it for ages and love it! Any bad remarks you hear about it are quite frankly over exaggerated lies :)
 
I used to play BF2 a year or two ago & loved it.

Went back to CS for a while before going to WoW, but reinstalled it at the weekend to play on LAN with my two kids....great fun!

I managed to get it to work using the single player bots in 64 man map size.

I've just bought it for my son for Christmas, as the complete set has the 3 add-ons, just to give it some life.

The game only costs a tenner too.
