Array Showing as RAW

Hi all,

My home server just BSOD'd so had to reset. Having rebooted, my main Data drive 5x2tb and 1x3tb (because I received a 3tb drive instead of 2) RAID 5 array is showing under disk management as RAW and is not accessible at all.

It is running off of a PERC H700 controller, and megaraid reports the array as optimal and all disks are perfect under Hard disk sentinel.

I have tried running chkdsk on it, but it says as the filesystem is ReFS it doesn't need checking?

Any Ideas?

Cheers

Ali

Anything in the log/event viewer? i.e. was it a failure of the array that caused the bsod or did the unexpected restart cause the failure?

If windows won't pick it up then it's restore from backup time. For that size disk might be worth looking at changing to RAID 10 - no parity calculations = less chance of issues like this (and much shorter rebuild times!).

Yeah, it's all media etc so don't have a backup it's just a pain to redownload.

Surely there must be someway of getting the data off?

edit: have found two ReFS errors in event viewer as follows:

Volume D: is formatted as ReFS but ReFS is unable to mount it; ReFS encountered status A portion of the file system requires repair..

and

The file system detected a checksum error and was not able to correct it. The name of the file or folder is "<unable to determine file name>".

Sounds like you've lost the partition information for the volume; I'd be looking at tools / ways to recreate the REFS partition information.
