If you paid by cheque you can still have it stopped and claim your cash back that way.

Send him an email and a recorded delivery letter telling him you want a refund because it dosent work and he didnt mention the paste on the pins. give him 7 days to reply then cancel the cheque. Once you have the money back in your account, send the cpu back recorded delivery.

I think the heatspreader is removed for watercooling.

If he didnt mention the heatspeader was off in the advert you have every right to a refund.

Contact minstadave, hes a cracking guy and is very helpful

he did, but informed me that was done by its first user, and that he had used it fine on air, but told me he'd decided to upgrade to C2D system.

Ok can we stop the bringerofdecay shop talk now please... it's taken enough of this thread over and i'm having my own problems here mate. :)

Do you get a constant on-off-on-off situation?

Having same issues with a DS4, and i think ive narrowed it down to my RAM as it dosent happen with it at stock

No it's not on-off... it just sit there at the point before the thing usually boots and then does nothing... fans just keep whirring, with GPU on full blast. Never seen anything like it tbh, getting another DS3 ooff of MM to tets so I can just swap it straight out.

When mine did that i actually found that it was a USB bluetooth dongle that stopped it booting.

Took it out and it booted fine

To the guy with the AMD chip, possibly your current BIOS dosen't support it? use the 3500 to flash to the latest BIOS and try it then with the newer cpu.

Hmm I tried removing my USB PCI card and no joy... I may just take the entire thing apart and put it back together tommorrow.

Hi mate,

I already politely asked people not to post about his problem, please just email him as I really need to concentrate on this problem and the thread is getting cluttered as it is. :)
