So I don't know much about monitors and need something for games/films and browsing but I have narrowed it down to,

YOUR BASKET
1 x Iiyama Prolite XB2776QS 27" AH-IPS Professional Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £449.99
1 x Dell UltraSharp U2713HM 27" Widescreen LED Monitor - Midnight Grey £439.99
1 x Hazro HZ27WB 10-Bit 27" LED Widescreen Professional Monitor - Black Aluminum Housing with heavy duty stand £419.99
Total : £1,336.61 (includes shipping : £22.20).

The Liyama seems to be new and I cant find much reviews or user reports about it.

The Dell...well we've all seen the user thread at overclock.net it seems to be a lottery and the price has crept up a bit.

The Hasro..no idea, customer service is poor right?

Or do I save up more money and grab this,

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus PB278Q 27" Professional LED Multimedia Monitor - Black £479.99
Total : £492.59 (includes shipping : £10.50).

Which ive only ever seen good things said about it.

I have the Hazro myself, great screen, but there is a risk of dead pixels sadly. (but DSR can be your friend here)

I do love the great quality of the stand and surround on the Hazro. As for the service from Hazro it doesnt really matter as OcUK cover the warranty, and you know they have great service.

I had the Asus but had to send it back due to Pluse- width modulation (PWM) giving me headaches.
Screen had no dead or stuck pixels and it had very little backlight bleed. Sorry I had to send it back as I liked it.:(

The Dell is a real lottery so if you get that you may have to send it back multiple times until you get a decent one.

Not sure about the others but I went for the Viewsonic VP2770 which ill be testing out tonight, ocuk dont currently have this In stock though.

Viewsonic VP2770 Seems the best bet in the 27" area if you're also a gamer.

Bit more pricey though. I was eyeing it up but really just cant stretch to the price.

I just plunged on the ASUS which i'll get tomorrow. Im really praying its ok.

Deliberated for ages on the Dell HM, but decided I wont want the hastle. While its a perfectly good screen, their quality control seems none existent with people going though 2-3 RMAs before getting something even remotely acceptable. I dont want that hassle for sure.

I ditched the Hazro as an option as its DVI only. My GPU only has 1 DL-DVI and i want something with display port capability too for potential future multi screens... The Hazro would have been a short sighted impluse buy in that regard. For me anyway.

It really is a difficult choice. And not being able to view these screens or compare them like you would a CPU/GPU its a very long hard choice.

Then you throw in the cost compared with 3 decent 24" screens and thats another dilema...

Hi was thinking about getting the Asus but didn't want to risk PWM the one I'm sure I will get within the next couple months is the Viewsonic VP2770 so let's us know how you get on will be using mine for gaming.

For many PWM is fine (and commonly used in monitors) Effect wise think in terms of active 3D glasses type strain. Not something you can see, not something that effects many (and not nearly as bad as active 3D) but that sort of effect.

PWM is used to dim the screen when adjusting the brightness. The lower the brightness the more likely you are to see flicker. PWM can cause eye strain, headaches or nausea. There may be more symptoms but I am not sure.

Testing out a display with PWM is the only way to tell if you are susceptible to it.

I had headaches using the Asus and it was not something I could put up with as I spend a lot of time on it.

Just testing out the VP2770 as we speak and its great so far. No dead pixels. :)
Back light bleed not an issue so far but not tested this out fully yet.

Out of the box settings are better than the Asus as well.

Going to try some games now and see how they look.

Couldn't do it.

Bought the asus instead, comes tomorrow.

I dont think there is much between the two to be honest. Both are amazing screens!

At the time i bought mine the Asus was nearly £100 more expensive, so was worth taking the risk on Dell, but at todays prices would prob have an Asus myself.

Good decision, heard good things about the Asus.

I've got the older version of the Hazro, brilliant screen. The difference between my old TN 24" panel and thia is amazing! Not noticed any lag and very minimal backlight bleed. The major downside imo is the god awful bezel and stand. Thankfully paid just over £300 so it's not too bad I guess.
