Arrghhh!! which 27"?

Asus PB278Q 27" Professional LED Multimedia Monitor - Black
That price is £479.99 without delivery am slightly confused with your £300 was it on offer

Was good, but noticed what seems to be a tiny bit of dirt/dust behind the screen in one corner.

It's a good monitor. But you might want to check for stuck pixels when you have the time, that screen is too good to let some pixels ruin it for you.

Personally got really unlucky with my one, had 7 stuck pixels and 1 bordering. Has been returned via the excellent service provided by Overclockers for an exchange I believe. Hoping the replacement doesn't fall foul of the same issues. Especially since I fell in love with the screen same as you. :)

Have you tried it gaming yet how does the refresh rate cope

Also whats is the warranty with the Asus 12 months or 3 years

Got the same myself, deliberated for ages, considered pushing for the viewsonic but really just couldn't afford it. When the ASUS was on offer from OcUK last weekend, I bit the bullet.

Not disappointed! This is my first IPS, and i could never imagine how a better picture could possibly look compared to my old TN based 24" samsung.

now i know... And I want a 2nd! :P

Well the Viewsonic is only about £25-30 more than the Asus so they are close in price.

I thought the Asus was a PLS screen or am I mixed up?

Yes it uses the Samsung LTM270DL02 PLS, same as the ViewSonic. :)

PWM is used to dim the screen when adjusting the brightness. The lower the brightness the more likely you are to see flicker. PWM can cause eye strain, headaches or nausea. There may be more symptoms but I am not sure.

Testing out a display with PWM is the only way to tell if you are susceptible to it.

I had headaches using the Asus and it was not something I could put up with as I spend a lot of time on it.

Just testing out the VP2770 as we speak and its great so far. No dead pixels. :)
Back light bleed not an issue so far but not tested this out fully yet.

Out of the box settings are better than the Asus as well.

Going to try some games now and see how they look.

Well, gaming ok on it, you notice much lag/ghosting/blur, or ok ?

Looking good your Asus ive got same speakers lot better size stand then stupid Viewsonic I'm going leave it few more weeks before I decide what to get.

Couldn't find it that cheap myself except from somewhere I've had poor experience with in the past.

the ASUS was really above my budget, with the 2713HM being in my price range, but i wasn't willing to risk the lottery with it.

If i can get something from OcUK and only be paying a tiny amount more than elsewhere then I'll get from OcUK, there is a certain level of comfort i feel buying here as I've got faith in their customer service :)

I'd play the lottery and keep RMAing until you get a good U2713HM or wait for reviews on the new BenQ 2710PT which could be the best 27" yet.

The Viewsonic VP2770-LED is overpriced. It has better QC but PLS is worse than IPS and reviews rate the contrast ratio way below the U2713HM. Also getting it RMA'ed could be problematic as it can't be bought from reputable sources such as OcUK * competitor removed *
