I don't see how you can say this, as the cards are selling then they must be priced appropriately. You might not be willing to pay this price but that is a different matter.

Plus if you brought that GTX in your signature when the cards came out you probably paid a lot more than the prices of a 5850 or 5870.
 
This is very tempting, especially in time for christmas. Mmmm, Left 4 Dead 2 AA full and everything on high or very high with 100+fps. Crysis suddenly playable and GTAIV running even smoother. Everything I've always wanted from my PC would now become POSSIBLE! Mmm very tempting indeed. :p
 
Stupid logic? The world we live in is pretty much founded on those principals!

I've ordered one, couldn't resist, hopefully will get in guess I'll have to wait and see...
 
It's not stupid logic, it's supply & demand.

If people are willing to pay the prices then that's the price the market is willing to bear.

Doesn't mean it's "nice" or whatever, but it is what it is.
 
Wish people with more money than sense would stop buying all these cards so everyone could buy one for the price they are actually ment to be being sold for.

Its not stupid logic, its supply and demand, its how our entire economy works. And yes, if people didn't buy it at the current price then it would probably come down. I'm not saying its the best method, its just better than anything else we have tried.

As for petrol, I do think it is expensive, so I don't buy any. I haven't brought petrol (or diesel etc.) for over 20 years.
 
Really happy these are arriving in stock . My GTX 280 has just died on me a couple of days ago.

I'm very very tempted by the 5970 but don't know whether to wait till the gtx 300's come. However It would be lovely to have one of these before crimbo :D
 
Yeah, just sent a webnote about 5970 availability. Got one on pre-order at another UK/C.I retailer for £480 + free p&p.

If OC can supply, I will take the price hit and get one from OC.
 
THe only 5970's that are available are powercolor. There are 6 pcs Left from Thursdays delivery. I would not hang about I would get it ordered.
 
Had a pre-order since this thread was posted, was just wondering if they'd come in yet, today being tuesday (and how likely they are to ship today if so).

Due for the 16th and the pre-order I have is in line for stock allocation. Would like to get sorted this week what with being on the verge of Christmas, if you know what I mean
