Arrrrrgh! MSN Spam/Annoying Messages!

Has anyone had this recently? I Keep getting messages from people not on my contact list saying things like "Thanks for the add" or "Well Hello There" etc. They are always offline, i have not sent them a message, i have not signed up to any websites recently. I have set the privacy settings to their max settings but they keep coming. I have checked my system for viruses/malware and all clean. I am totally confused and its getting really annoying now. I would like to change to skype but i am having the problems where i cannot log in using my MSN account details... Arrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh!

Anyone help?

Have you not moved over to the Skype client.

MSN is closing in March.

You could always try A-Patch in the meantime.

Yeah i know.. But as i said i cannot use the Skype client as it has a problem.

Will give apatch a go..

Im pretty sure there is something in options that you can click to only allow people on your contact list to message you. Work PC doesn't have it installed or I would look

Merge your MSN account with a normal Skype account, then you should be able to log in.

I have already done that. There are loads of people on the net with exactly the same problem. Merged accounts fine, can sign in with skype account but not the microsoft one. It works fine at home but not on this machine.

Well i managed to get Skype signed in with my MSN account now but i am still getting annoying messages. And this is even with the privacy settings set to people in my contacts list only.. :mad:
