Not so sure about this - the Apple rocket they a e using hasnt been without its numerous faults not to mention NASA being torn to pieces with budget cuts etc- can see this ending in tears unfortunately.

It's a race to beat China to the moon (modern human landings).

Thats the real reason the US don't want the CPP to claim all the surface for China they want to stake out their claim.. yes I'm cynical. Otherwise its cool.

What will is smell of?

Burnt ashes apparently, lots of materials that havn't been exposed to oxygen being oxidised

Well America last went to the moon when I was twenty one, they may get back before I am eighty. It's a pretty poor performance overall. There should be at least permanent colonies by now.
