hi my sentium case came with a 450w seasonic PSU well thats what it states on outer wrapping , but on the psu itself it says 350 w ? whats going on , also it says the 12v line is good for just 17 amps? not much cope for a x1900xt card is it?

I very much doubt it. There was probably changeover period when the guy who orders the card for the boxes ran down his stocks of 350W boxes so they only had the 450W boxes but they were still building with the 350W PSU. They probably had a meeting about it where the Technical/Compliance Manager said "That's dodgy, we'll only get complaints - and possibly prosecuted" and the Production Manager said - "Nah - the customers are all stupid, they'll never spot the difference, it's a commercial decision and we're shipping them". Not that that's ever happened in any factory I've ever worked in, you understand

OR

You bought a return where some smarty-pants had a 350W, then bought a 450W, swapped them over and then returned the new one with the 350W PSU in it. That happens far more often than you would like to think about. Was it a B-Grade or Clearance item if you don't mind me asking?

no brand new , but just found out it is rated at 350w continuios and 450 watt max ! it is a seasonic psu

I would still send it back. It's extremely unusual for a PSU to be marked with it's continuous rating. Most 600W PSU's are actually 480W continuous, but they are marked up as 600W for marketing reasons. Unless it says 450W anywhere on the PSU, I'd send it back.

Seasonic are strong power supplies, and what they have told you about the 20-pin plug is basically true, but I don't think you're that happy in yourself and you should be.

cheers , i am not , i bilieve if a board has a 24 pin connection it should get a 24 pin connection 1 lol just the electrican bit of me comming out! lol, its going back lol
