artic freezer connector query

on the artic freezer heatsink the 4 pin connector has 4 leads a blue- red- black- yellow,now do i need the blue cable connected as if i want to connect it to my fan control i only need the red-yellow-black,is it possible cheers

No it will work fine in a 3 pin slot.

You just lose the extra speed controls that the fourth wire gives.
