Artifacts in BIOS and other weird goings on...

Hi peeps.

I noticed some very faint dots all over my screen yesterday whilst on the desktop or web pages. I then tried to play a game and the screen messed up and it crashed. I rebooted and then noticed the text in the BIOS was random characters!

I tried updating to the latest driver (2900HD) and the the windows screens just went black with a mouse pointer. You can tell the OS hasnt hung and its just the display and i could get to safe mode ok.

I system restored to the previous driver and i can get back into windows normally allthough the original problems are still there.

Is it just the graphics card or could the mobo be up the creek?

Recently RMA'd a 8800GTS 640 for a similar error Except XP refused to install any Driver and only a DVI->VGA converter worked, DVI went totally dead...

So it sounds like the graphics card to me

Although i would wait for others opinions

its the card its gone faulty

I have had 2 cards do the same thing , its rma time for it my friend

Hmm ok thanks guys. Time for an upgrade anyway lol. Still a pain in the backside.
