Artifacts

I recently purchased a Gainward HD 4870 "Golden Sample" 1GB and after about 2-3 weeks of working fine I'm getting artefacts on screen. The temperatures seem reasonable low at 60-64c in games so i don't think there is any cooler problems. Before I return it is there anything i should try to make sure it is not some kid of bug/driver issue?

Using 10.4 cats - windows 7 64bit.

Do they show soon as you boot the pc.

I do sometimes get them on the desktop but always in games

If it artifacts before windows loads you can probably rule out drivers being the problem.

Have you got another pc to try it in?

Also try different cables to conect to the monitor if you can also.
