It'll soon be the month of December and all across the lands the obligatory trees, lights, ornaments and wreaths will appear in every house.

So, for the first time in a decent home I need to get an artificial tree. Preferably with LEDs or lights already fitted. Budget of £50

Where can I find a good looking tree to befit my lounge?

Artificial trees look crap regardless of how much you spend.

Spend that £50 on a real one and a thing of lights, avoid tinsel at all costs (beads are where it's at). Not only do they look better, they smell awesome.

And also make your house need hoovering everyday xD

The John Lewis one looks great, 4ft bit small though, maybe I push my budget to get a 5ft haha

edit: damn it they don't do 5ft cheap tree :(

Never had an issue, every 3-4 days is adequate, and I don't mean a full hoover, just a quick run round.

Provided it's a fresh, decent tree and not some trash you picked up outside tescos or B&Q that's been sitting around for a week.

We just bought an 8ft one in Homebase for £80. Over budget but was half price and double nectar points!

Perhaps. I personally prefer artificial but that's from a money POV.

I know that you can use the Nectar card at Sainsbury's (collect/redeem) and at Argos (redeem only), but I didn't know you could collect points at Homebase too. Where else can you use the Nectar card? Club card is Tesco only isn't it?

www.nectar.com I would suspect holds all the answers.

I found a tree on Sainsburys Online but they don't let you redeem nectar points towards payment and I can't use my triple points voucher online either. Have to go in store and hope they have stock.

I got the Tesco one 7ft one 2 years ago for £25 (was £80 full price).

If you check on quidco etc they often have offers of £10-15 off your first online order plus voucher codes and double your money on clubcard vouchers if you have them.

I have the tree now, hence the photo but thanks. I did look in B&Q but saw quite a few that were more expensive and didn't look half as good as the one I got.

Plus all their decorations were so expensive. Still saw loads of people with buckets of decs. They must have spent £100s. Xmas is expensive haha

That's because Christmas is a commercialised season these days.
