As a country how did we ever let this become a thing ?

I was reading about the potential Oasis reunion today which naturally led me to think about terrible haircuts, most notably the uniquely British Paul Weller haircut.

What failure in British society led to haircuts like this existing and how did anyone ever think it was a good look ?

Were you once a wellend ? If so what societal event tipped you over the edge into the abyss ?

Tbh I don't get the current obsession with mullets. I'm sure they were the chav haircut of choice and for some reason some people think they're cool again.

I had a similar style back in the 90's but then again, I was taking lots of drugs. Wouldn't have that style now as it's far to much effort.
