As a long term O2 customer, will I get a better deal on a new iphone 14pro contract if i phone them to haggle?

Hi all, been with o2 for at least 15 years i'd say. Currently on a rolling contract with my iphone 11 but looking to upgrade but pay a bit less than the £63 a month the website is quoting me for the 256gig model. Is it likely i'll be offered a better deal by giving them a ring or have things changed on that front now?

Many thanks!

I tried similar with 3 and found a new contract with them was way more expensive than elsewhere.
Try..

In the end I just bought my 14 Pro outright as I didn’t want to be tied into another lengthy contract.

Yeah handset contracts are a mug's game these days. Buy outright and use 0% PayPal credit if needed, then go sim-only. I'm on Three and pay £9/month with unlimited everything and 30GB data. Use a PAC code if changing networks and you want to keep your number.

Almost all the time, but not always. My example below is of course a massive outlier.

I was using PAYG last year on my existing Pixel 4 - however using a combination of topcashback, mobiles.co.uk redemption cashback and a free chromebook offer (which I sold on), alongside selling my old mobile, i'm paying less over 24 months with a brand new phone than if I were to have stayed on my existing PAYG deal with an older phone. The PAYG was something like 30GB data with free social media usage (which i don't use), new contract is 250GB data a month. Hugely overkill but the offer was there :)

Right offers and time helped massively and doubt I could replicate.

I haven't had a contract that includes the phone in years. SIM only with three, £6 a month currently. I just buy a new phone outright when I feel I need one and a good deal comes up.

If you preorder a new phone sometimes it comes bundled with extra things you can sell on as well, example the Pixel 6 series had the Bose headphones which if sold significantly lowered the overall cost.
